The venue is called Bygdøhus, and the adress is Huk Aveny 45, 0287 Oslo.
There is paid parking by the hall and free parking in the streets nearby.
To get there without a car, you catch bus number 30 from the city, (for example outside Oslo central station in Fred Olsens gate), go to Bygdøhus bus stop and walk for one minute to the hall. The journey takes from 15-30 minutes depending on what time of day you travel. Look up the timetable at ruter.no If you arrive Oslo by train, another option is taking the train to Skøyen, walk 13 minutes to bus stop Karenlyst allé and take bus 30 from there.
If you arrive Norway by plane, the airport will be about 20 minutes by train from the city center. See Airport express (190 NOK) or NSB.no (101 NOK) for timetable. The bus stop is just outside the central train station Oslo S, or 13 minutes walk from Skøyen train station (see above).
For those arriving early, we will arrange some sightseeing and dinner on Friday. Send us an email or pm Marianne Torpen on Facebook if you would like to join, and tell me when you intend to arrive.
It will be possible to sleep in the hall. If you want that, tick the box when you registrer and bring a sleeping bag and mat.
If you prefer a hotel, the closest will be Scandic Sjølyst. That would be half way between the venue and the city center where we will have dinner on Saturday. There is a bus stop, Karenlyst allé, 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
Another option could be Comfort Hotel Xpress Central Station, very close to the central station where trains from the airport and elsewhere arrives. It is in the same street as the bus leaves for Bygdøhus, and within walking distance to dinner on Saturday. If you are two people sharing, you dont get it much cheaper in the city center. But there is a hostel called Saga Poshtel Oslo Central to look at if you are travelling alone.
If you like the comfort of a 4 star hotel, we have a deal at Thon Hotel Opera next to the central station. The prices are 1095 NOK per night for a singel room and 1245 NOK per room per night for a twin room. If you are interested, send us an email or message to Marianne Torpen to get the referance number and contact details.
For those sleeping in the hall, you need to get food before you get to the venue. We will arrange a light meal with bread & spread for breakfast.
There are cafes at the museums nearby the hall, and a grocery store 5 minutes walk from the hall called Spar. (Friday open until 9pm, Saturday 9am - 8 pm, Sunday closed.) More food to get at stores and pizzeria at Skøyen, driving distance.
We will arrange for dinner in Oslo city center at Saturday evening 8 pm. More information about this later.
